SIDNEY, Neb. - Employees of Sidney Regional Medical Center had an opportunity to explore their workplace benefits Wednesday, Nov. 4, as the hospital hosted its annual benefits fair at Pole Creek Estates Assisted Living.

The Cheyenne County Community Center was among the participating organizations, with Membership Specialist Bev Sonntag representing The Center from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event coincided with SRMC's annual open enrollment period, which began Monday, Nov. 2.

"We do this every year," SRMC HR Business Manager Carol Porter said. "We have all of our vendors here, from insurance to vision and dental, and AirMed Care Network to The Community Center, that provide benefits for employees. We also have flu shots here."

Porter said the hospital changed the event's format a couple years ago, replacing vendor presentations with an open-house approach that allows employees to visit booths, collect promotional items and register for prizes.

"People come, get all their swag and register for prizes," Porter said. "They like it a lot better."

The Center participates through a partnership that provides discounted memberships to eligible SRMC employees, with additional savings offered by the hospital.

"The Community Center gives us a discount and then we also give a discount," Porter said, noting Hillside Golf Course offers a similar arrangement.

The partnership provides another opportunity for SRMC employees to access local recreation and fitness facilities.
