SIDNEY, Neb. — The Cheyenne County Community Center is expanding its operating hours to include Sundays, giving area residents additional opportunities for indoor recreation and exercise during the winter months.
The Center will be open Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. through at least Easter, providing access to its gymnasium and indoor walking track.
"The expanded schedule gives you more opportunities to remain active as colder temperatures arrive in western Nebraska," Executive Director Hunter Arterburn said. "Opening on Sundays gives families another opportunity to get in the gym, walk the track or enjoy some recreation together."
The additional hours are available to existing members and nonmembers, who can purchase day, week or 30-day passes.
The gymnasium will be available for basketball and other recreational activities. Volleyball nets can also be set up upon request for individuals or groups interested in playing.
Hours at the Community Center are Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The Training Room, The Center's fitness facility at 1608 10th Ave., remains available to its members 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round.
