SIDNEY, Neb. — Kids Korner Early Child Development Center took home first place in the adult division of the 2026 Sidney Oktoberfest parade Saturday, Oct. 3.
Kids Korner staff entered a float themed “The Center of It All,” highlighting programs across the Cheyenne County Community Center, including fitness, sports, the walking track, Kids Korner, The Learning Korner Preschool and The Hang Out Youth Clubhouse.
“Winning is an honor, and it means so much to everyone who helped bring our float to life,” Kids Korner Director Tiffany Jones said. “It’s a wonderful recognition of the time, creativity and teamwork that went into it.”
Kids Korner staff and their husbands helped decorate the float and participated in Saturday’s parade along Illinois Street in downtown Sidney.
Jones said one of her favorite parts of Oktoberfest is seeing children and families Kids Korner has served over the years.
“Seeing all of the children from past to current that we’ve had the joy of watching grow up and hearing them yell your name with excitement is so rewarding,” Jones said.
Celebrate Recovery placed second in the adult division, while St. Patrick’s/Sidney Class of 1986 finished third.
Other first-place winners included the Raiderettes in the youth division, FFA in the novelty division and Scooters in the business division.
“It’s the wonderful mix of tradition, creativity and community pride that makes the parade so special every year,” Jones said.
